Cate's kissing booth

For a while now Cate has been kissing our faces, but now shes run wild kissing dolls, stuffed animals, even trying to kiss Stella the cat!. Today her and I were reading her baby words book, and we couldn't even make it through reading it because all she wanted to do was kiss all the faces. Every new page I would turn she would slowly lean in and plant a huge wet smack on the page, then gaze at what she had done. Shes amazing!

Mo' Money Mo' Problems

Cate from time to time (well lets be honest all the time) will put random items in her mouth. I mean come on, shes 9 months old! Usual items include, but not restricted to: Cheerios that have fallen on the floor, paper from moms magazine that she just tore to shreds, random fuzz from the carpet. But I never really thought she would go this far... Luckily Chris noticed Cate silently playing by herself, which usually in itself very specious. Then he noticed she was chomping away on something. Immediately he tried to shove both his hands into her mouth, with great resistance from Cate he was successful, and low and behold what was it she had been gnawing on... well a brand new 2008 penny. First off I don't remember getting change in 2008, let alone a penny that was minted in 2008! I knew there was a reason I took on the X-ray tech position at work, lets hope I won't need to use my X-ray skills on any family member! And yeah we did spend the rest of the day combing the floor for other, pennies, loonies or even yen.

Tis the season!!!

For the past couple days Chris and I have been suffering the ill effects of this years allergy season... 'tis the season for dry, itchy watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose, headache and generalized crappiness. As if the constant nasal discharge weren't enough, Cate has started teething, again! For the past 3 nights she has woken up 3 times during the night. She also has the nice gummy snot that's impossible to suction out with the bulb syringe, not to mention that shes so much stronger now that it takes the 2 of us to "suction her out". Well wish us luck as we continue to use saline lavages, and netty pots!
FYI- Chris's Baseball team is 3-0, way to go boys!!!!!

I received a comment from my smarter but still younger sister stating that I had miss-quoted myself in my previous post...

Meg- There is a little error, I think you meant tie you over, not tide? Unless you taking us all to the beach? :)

I thought to myself... could it be possible? Was/could I be wrong? I had thought I used at least the correct word, and in the perfect context: because of the hardship that our loyal "blog watchers" would face with blog-less nights. I doubted my use of the phrase thinking -She is a journalism major at a "prestigious" university.
Well thank God for my doctorate in Google... For the record...It looks as though this debate has come up before...

[Q] “Could you please clear up a disagreement my husband and I are having regarding the proper usage of the phrases to tie you over versus to tide you over?”
[A] the true form is to tide one over. The phrase means that something — especially money — will see one through a difficult period and keep one going until things improve. The idea is that of the swelling tide, which will carry you over some obstacle, with the implication that it won’t require effort on your part.
